The Northern Virginia Bonsai Society and Meadowlark Botanical Gardens are partners in a very special little project. MBG built a permanent pavilion on their grounds to display bonsai, and NVBS provides and cares for the trees that are displayed there, as well as some bonsai that belong to the Garden.

The pavilion had its grand opening last fall. This morning, NVBS members brought trees to arrange for the spring re-opening. Since the trees displayed there belong to individual NVBS members, the pavilion sat empty for the winter months, but now that the growing season has started, we expect to have a rotation of trees on display from now (April) through November.

Thanks to all who were so gracious to share their trees, and to those who volunteered to help this morning. A huge thanks goes to Gary and Chuck, chairman and vice chairman of the Meadowlark committee, who made it all happen.

If you are in the Northern Virginia, Washington DC, or Maryland area, I invite you to find an opportunity to get to Meadowlark in Vienna, VA to see the pavilion and all of the other beautiful gardens there. Let me know what you think!
